Puneeta Mittal
With a strong belief that everything that is born, grows and
withers away
yet to be born again - incessant change from one to another
proceeds in an
evolutionary cycle - clay has proved to be an ideal medium
for my expressions. My love for color and texture in nature-
internal and external, has proven to
be an unlimited resource for my blank canvas.

Laura Moriarty
Rocks can tell the story of time if you know how to read
them; I think about painting in a similar way, using the
process of making as a tool for discovery. My work draws
parallels between human and geologic time. I play with the
idea of plate tectonics by literally pushing the paint off
the panel and then refining it, (through heating and
compressing a beeswax based paint), into a collection of
sculptural forms that resemble fossils, geodes, bones and
shards. I consider the pure medium fodder for a playful
re-visioning of natural history, where I get to make all the
specimens in the museum.
Laura Moriarty's recent solo and group shows include:
'Upheaval', Artspace, New Haven, CT; 'Ecotones and
Transition Zones' curated by Brian Wallace, Samuel Dorsky
Art Museum; 'Graphica Creativa '09: 12th International Print
Triennial', Jyvaskyla Art Museum, Finland; 'Hyper-Nature',
Spaces, Cleveland, OH. Awards include two Pollock-Krasner
Foundation Grants, New York Foundation for the Arts SOS
grants, and residencies in the US and Europe.

Terry Nauheim
"Propagation Seems Good Here Tonight" drawing and animation
2009
In "Propagation Seems Good Here Tonight," animated drawings
correspond with shortwave radio transmissions recorded in
Chelsea, New York between March 20 and 21, 2009. Imagery
alters between illumination and dimness as if to sift
through an atmosphere of random noise in the universe. This
unpredictable environment, with its degrees of murk and
clarity, propagates waves that bend, stretch, open, close,
pack together and break apart.
Terry Nauheim explores sound and visual relationships
through digital media, drawing, and installation.

Clayton Orehek
I try to find the undercurrent, common denominator of the
works and find as it is usually with me, unless I am poking
fun at an issue, that I am trying to discover the process. I
find there are elements of Time and therefore Context in the
stuff that interest me. Therefore, I usually develop a piece
that looks midstream, undone, in process because it always
is. The longer I work on something, the more complex it
becomes and hopefully more simple it appears. Any good
provoking art work I liken to be more like verse than text,
it is distilled, refined, subtracted and minimalized to
basic physical elements and metaphysical ideas.
