Janell O'Rourke
My current body of work is focused on animal figuration,
landscape, motion and stillness. I work from both observed
and imagined imagery. In my work I want to express what is
beyond the visible beyond the tangible, and enter into a
transitory world where moments shape and surprise how we
see.
Janell O'Rourke lives and works in Ridgewood Queens, NY. She
has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions
throughout the US. She is currently showing in a traveling
exhibition, entitled, "Degrees of Density". Janell has been
commissioned to create illustrations for books of poetry and
essay collections. Currently she is working on a video and
sound installation with the musician Vincent J. Evans.

Jason Paradis
In my art, there is a sense of contemplation or of reverie
that speculates on fundamental mysteries–this being the
result of a lot of camping under an expansive sky in the
northern Canadian wilderness. There, questions emerged
regarding the existence of something much larger than the
immediate world. I am very interested in a moment where the
past, present, and future collide. The pieces end up feeling
like some sort of phenomenon (either natural or
supernatural) has occurred, or is occurring.

Jennifer Gioe Peper
It
has been a goal of mine to evoke a sense of familiarity with
forms while avoiding blatant representation. I work with
clay and glaze, sometimes using Dr Martin Inks, gesso or
sand to get the surface texture I like. The pieces
represented here are from a body of work entitled, "The
Button Collection". They each range in size of about 5x5x5
inches,
For this series, I chose to study the textures of objects
found in everyday life. Very often surfaces, whether of
things organic or synthetic, flora or fauna, seem to imitate
one another. The folds of fabric can mimic deep folds of
flesh, or even certain kinds of tree bark. I like to portray
these surfaces without intentionally showing where I've
borrowed them from, allowing what is depicted as rough or
unyielding to give way to the softer center. The structures
look familiar but cannot be placed, reminiscent of something
the viewer knows but doesn't exactly see.

Judy Richardson
The way we sense things: the way things look, smell, sound
and feel is the impetus for the work I do. I look at
everything, from the stuff in the $.99 store to
architectural structures in Art History. I am compelled by
the way things are made, and I take a lot of things apart to
understand that better. I use bits and pieces of things from
our daily lives to imply a human presence without the work
being figurative.
